Eye Level English helps students master the English language while enhancing the four fundamental skills:listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
READING BOOKLETS
Students develop fundamental reading skills through explicit instruction, targeted practice, and oral reading focusing on fluency. At each successive level, students develop higher-level critical thinking skills by learning comprehension strategies to analyze complex, domain-specific texts and by formulating effective written responses in various genres.
WRITING BOOKLETS
Starting with Level B, students are provided with writing booklets in addition to their reading booklets. These booklets introduce students to the four primary writing genres: narrative, informational, opinion, and research. Students begin with basic picture responses to carefully selected prompts and work their way up to basic sentences, paragraphs, and finally three-paragraph essays.
